During my time in York I was chosen to play the lead role Clara in a performance of The Nutcracker, again, performed at Royal Opera House York. It was during this time that I began assisting with the younger pupils from age 14. I then joined Inspire School of Dance and Drama, Beverley, as a senior dancer at the age of 17, travelling from York each week to attend classes. I continued my Inspire journey becoming a teaching assistant in 2016 and starting my teacher training alongside furthering my tap and modern exams. I have passed my Pre Associate teaching exams 1 & 2 with distinction most recently achieving 91%. In 2017 I began running my own Branch which has gone from strength to strength with pupils all passing their IDTA street dance exams with outstanding results.
I still travel from York to teach as I am dedicated to my pupils and the school. I also took over the school temporarily while the Inspire Principal was on Maternity Leave. This has allowed me to develop in every area of my teaching. My time at Inspire has been invaluable, I have taught a range of styles including Ballet, Contemporary, Tap, Street and Musical Theatre. As a result of my time in Beverly I was given the opportunity to teach Dance in several schools.
I have always been very passionate about Dance and Teaching, I take great pride in my pupils and helping them to achieve their best. The thing I enjoy most about being a dance teacher is seeing the passion and love of dance that I have always had, being passed on to my pupils and being able to watch them use this to progress into the dancers they are capable of being. I am DBS checked, First Aid trained and safeguarding trained.
